Winning The Dating Game... Making Your Experience Count
Remember when you were first dating as a teenager? All the butterflies in your stomach, the uncertainty, the nervousness? Then as you get older and become a more experienced dater, it seems to get easier. There's still a certain amount of butterflies, nervousness and uncertainty, but you have the realization that the other person is likely to be just as nervous as you are, and somehow that helps to put you more at ease. But the older you get, the harder dating can be. But it can still be fun.
Success in the dating world
In your early to mid 20s, dating becomes a game for some.
Maybe someone's been jaded in the past by bad dating experience and doesn't care about it. And conflict is certain to arise when a guy is dating around -- he's sure to be dating a couple of girls who have high hopes that it will turn into a relationship, when the guy is looking for....something else. That generally leads to a lot of problems and frustration. But eventually, we all meet the one who turns into our one true love. Getting there is the hard part.
A lot of people end up with broken hearts, and some wonder if it's even worth it anymore to try. At that point, some singles dating turn to something quite revolutionary. The landscape (or cyber-scape) of Internet dating. This used to be sort of a taboo subject, or something you were embarrassed to do, but now so many online dating services have had so much success that more and more people out there are trying it. The first question that comes to mind with online dating is "How safe is it?"
It's just as safe as going out with a stranger you met at Starbucks who grabbed your latte by mistake. Think about it. Anytime you're going to go out with someone you don't know all that well, no matter how you met them, take the right precautions:
- On your first date, agree to meet somewhere. Drive separately and don't go to each other's homes.
- Let a friend or family member know of your plans (where you're going, who you'll be with, etc.)
- Do a background check on the person, if possible. You never know what singles are out there!
- Don't give them your address until they've earned your trust.
Making the dating game fun again
When you're first dating someone, everything is fun. These are when relationships are probably the most care free and enjoyable. This is a time when you're getting to know each other, and even doing something like going to the park can really be fun. And after you've been dating for awhile, even the most mundane things like going to the grocery store or doing laundry together can be more enjoyable. Even after you get married, you should keep dating each other to keep your relationship alive.
