Being single is definitely not what it used to be. Once upon a time, not too long ago in fact, being single, especially later on life got you a lot of questions as to why and more than enough prodding by your mother and grandmothers. There must be something wrong with this person, many would say about the single person they knew- why are they choosing to be alone? Do they want to be single? Or maybe no one will have them. Well, folks, the good news is- those days are gone!

Single in the 21st century

The times have changed for the better and so have most people's attitudes towards American singles. Even if a few old timers feel the need to give every single they come across a few choice words, nobody cares anymore. We recognize that the idea that being single into your 20s, 30s, 40s, and beyond is somehow strange and out of the norm is a vestige of the past, it no longer has any bearing. The pressure is finally off and we can all get on with our lives in a manner hat we see fit. None of us need to be in a relationship in order to feel whole and we are no longer in a big hurry to start having kids. This is no longer the epitome of happiness in life. Every American single can pursue their own dreams without the single stigma from days of old.

This has also allowed many more women to enter into and stay in the workforce. we are not under the intense pressure anymore that often led to premature marriages that would end up lacking in happiness. We can decide more things for ourself without having to worry about what the rest of society thinks, because it just doesn't matter that much anymore. All American singles can finally sit back, relax, and enjoy!
